The Women’s Association, in part, supports its mission to promote quality healthcare at Morristown Medical Center through fundraising. To that end, WAMMC established three separate businesses in the 1950s; the Coffee Shop, the Bargain Box Thrift Shop and the Corner Store Gift Shop.
As the hospital continued to expand over the last half century, it outgrew the all-volunteer managed and run coffee shop. To expand service hours and ensure quality control, au bon pain was contracted to meet the needs of staff, volunteers and hospital visitors. Today, WAMMC is the liaison between MMC and au bon pain with four locations throughout the MMC campus: Franklin 1, Goryeb Children’s Hospital Lobby, Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute Lobby and 111 Madison Avenue – Outpatient Surgery Lobby.
The Corner Store Gift Shop has also provided a service for more than half a century; making gifts, cards, flowers, balloons, magazines, toys and toiletries available to the Medical Center community. It also has grown in scope to satisfy the needs of the expanded hospital facility. Gift Shop locations now include: Franklin 1, Goryeb Children’s Hospital Lobby and Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute Lobby.
