Our Organization
The Women’s Association of Morristown Memorial Hospital (WAMMH) is a 750 plus member volunteer organization, established in 1893. The mission of WAMMH is to support Morristown Memorial Hospital in advancing the quality of healthcare in the community. The Association fulfills this mission through fundraising endeavors and by providing caring services to patients and visitors.
WAMMH raises more than $700,000 annually for the Hospital and is also one of the largest contributors to Hospital capital campaigns. In recent years, WAMMH has contributed $2.5 million to Goryeb Children's Hospital, $1 million to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, $1.5 million to Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute, and $1.5 million to Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. Cumulatively, WAMMH has contributed over $10 million to the Hospital since 1999.
Morristown Memorial Hospital is the leading provider of healthcare services in northern New Jersey. This private, not-for-profit Hospital has been designated a Regional Trauma Center, Regional Perinatal Center, Magnet Hospital for Excellence in Nursing Service and center for excellence in orthopedics, cancer care (Carol G. Simon Cancer Center), pediatrics (Goryeb Children's Hospital) and cardiovascular care (Gagnon Cardiosvascular Institute). Morristown Memorial Hospital is an important teaching and research hospital as well as the second largest employer in Morris County.
